Wood Wood, out of Denmark, is another boutique with their very own collection, a great one at that. They have two stores in Copenhagen, one in Berlin and carry lines like Bernhard Willhelm and Opening Ceremony, all the way to more 'street' line likes Adidas, Puma and Y3. Here is AW '08, but yes we saw Spring '09 and it's fantastic. Those pics coming soon...
Wood Wood is available online at their own boutique, Stand up Comedy and at End Clothing

April 77: We Lived Our Lives In Black FW08

Here's a glimpse from April 77's Fall '08 collection We Lived Our Lives In Black. They're taking on a lot more than just denim, and we're loving it. April 77 is available online at Seven New York.

Lookbook: Lizzie Fortunato
Lookbook: Lizzie Fortunato

My liking for bold statement jewelry is like fine wine, it gets better with age. That, and it's more than likely directly effected by the trends. With that said, I'm loving the loud, chunky and reminiscent fall collection from Lizzie Fortunato. An intricate array of badges, bows, beads, rosettes and pom poms make for an incredibly detailed and fun collection. The Fortunato twins (Lizzie and Kathryn) mix vintage elements like ribbon and antique etched poker chips(circa 1890) with newer materials like hand sewn chiffon and round brass chains to create a subtle nod to the past with a strong yearning forward. Here are some favorites from their Fall/Winter 2008 lookbook, entitled Get Yourself Free available online at La Garconne.

Take Me To The Lake
Take Me To The Lake

I'm constantly struggling with my underpinnings, not literally, but when it comes to my lingerie I have a difficult time finding that happy medium between pin-up girl seductive and pretty-pretty princess feminine. The Lake and Stars has come pretty damn close. Nikki Dekker and Maayan Zilberman 's collection of well-tailored and provocative, fashion focused intimates mixes form and fashion in the best way I've seen so far. Their subtle nod to the past, yet obvious relevance to the present astounds me. I love the fact many of the pieces can serve as a bedroom showstopper, or the perfect layering piece to any outfit. Talk about multi-functional. Shop online at Figleaves, Shopbop and Bona Drag
