My liking for bold statement jewelry is like fine wine, it gets better with age. That, and it's more than likely directly effected by the trends. With that said, I'm loving the loud, chunky and reminiscent fall collection from Lizzie Fortunato. An intricate array of badges, bows, beads, rosettes and pom poms make for an incredibly detailed and fun collection. The Fortunato twins (Lizzie and Kathryn) mix vintage elements like ribbon and antique etched poker chips(circa 1890) with newer materials like hand sewn chiffon and round brass chains to create a subtle nod to the past with a strong yearning forward. Here are some favorites from their Fall/Winter 2008 lookbook, entitled Get Yourself Free available online at La Garconne.

I love their stuff too -- funny that it's a pair of sisters behind the line... I wrote about them (and the sisters in accessories trend) for Gen Art here.
love it...thanks for the tip!
