linarennellLina Rennell's Fall/Winter '09 collection is called Knitting from the Past, Present & Beyond and is inspired by knitting (obviously), ants, dreaming, the hot pink flesh of prickly pears and the dead. Rennell pays homage to our predecessors, "those who first labored, from the pencil, to mathematics, to the naming of a color, and even breathing the words I love you," all while recognizing the importance of individuality. Sneak Peek: AZFN Fall '09

fall '09
AZFN
AZFNAZFN (the duo also known as Anzevino and Florence) has captivated us once again, this time with their Fall '09 collection. Each piece features some sort of unique selling point, like detailed embroidered sleeves on an oversized football style tee, a sheer organza skirt that comes attached to a pair of pants (see above), or even the simplest features like the stunning royal blue on a cotton scarf. Anica Boutique will stock most of the pieces above, but visit AZFN's Website for a current stocklist.

We're loving this Spring '09 lookbook from A'N'D (a.k.a. Azumi and David). The duo took its inspiration this season from holiday travel, baggage allowances, and passport visa stamps. The multi-functional zip joined tri-bag, and leather hat-bag are Style Bite favorites--their versatility is ingenious.

sunja link
sunja linkCanadian born Sunja Link started her eponymous collection back in 2002, and since then has been gaining praise from buyers and editors across her home country and the US. Sunja sources all natural fabrics, manufactures all her clothes in Canada, and prints her own fabrics--our kind of designer. Spring '09 is full of easy-going dresses with subtle details, like a pintuck there, a cleverly placed button there. Another reason to fast forward into Summer.

Sneak Peek: Anntian S/S '09

anntian
anntian
Behold, lookbook pics from Anntian's S/S '09 collection. Anntian was created in Berlin two years ago by designers Anne Hilken and Christian Kurt. Anntian's textiles are custom designed and handprinted, a detail that's obvious when you get within a couple feet of one of their designs -- each piece complex. They pride themselves on their conceptual, detail-oriented pieces, and this S/S '09 collection is no aberation. I'll be dreaming about the top in picture #1 for days...

Mine Fall '08

How sweet is this Fall '08 collection from Aussie turn Londoner Katherine Pont's label Mine. What started by accident from a hobby of creating one off tees has blossomed into a full-force label now in their 7th season. Overall Fall '08 sticks to Mine's trademark girliness, and is composed of frocks and separates suited for all you Sirens and Sailors, or girls yearning for a little vintage flair. I'm crazy over the first dress on the right. Shop Spring '08 at Standard Deviation.

Anne Kimball

There's something refreshing about Bay Area based Anne Kimball's easygoing eponymous collection. Each piece is endearing and flattering, yet down to earth; the type of clothing designed to wear with you. The collection is very reminiscent of Jackson, Johnson and Roe whom we wrote about awhile back. Maybe it's my inner earthliness, but I find Anne Kimball's creations invigorating. Here are a few favorites from Spring, available online at Doe, as well as a sneak peek of Fall 2008.

Here are a few pieces from Tristan Blair's fall '08 'Go be good' collection. While the heels are pretty fierce, I'm crazy about the flat buckle beauties...definitely on my must have list for fall. I love the strong menswear undertone. Check out Gargyle for pieces from Blair's Spring collection, or stay tuned for an updated stocklist in the fall.

Sneak Peek: Mociun Fall '08

mociun

mociun
Caitlin Mociun designs a mean print - her textile skills are flat out phenomenal. Her hand printed whimsical designs keep me anxious for each impending season, and fall '08 is no exception - it's actually a step above the rest. Her trademark native motif proves to be a re-occurring theme, fall '08 being entitled 'Naming Ceremony.' My wish list is already 4 pieces long, and the collection hasn't even hit stores. Expect deliveries late summer.

Sneak Peek: JF and Son Winter '08

jf and son
With two seasons under their belt and one on the horizon, JF & Son is definitely a designer on the rise to look out for. With that said, there isn't too much information about the line other than the pictures (which sometimes speak louder than words) and a great interview by Sheila Beckman. The designer and journalist chat about inspirations, the future, and the world's tallest buildings. JF and Son's winter collection is cleverly entitled "falling into." Click here for full interview. Stocklists are limited, but their site lists Eva NY as an account.
