The Catwalks are alive. Its only a day into NY fashion week, but a few of my favorites have already strutted their spring collections down the runway and are opening themselves up for review:
Rachel Comey. Set: NY St. Patricks Youth Center Date: Sept. 4th Theme: Seductive School Teacher on a date, or a picnic. This young designer's spring show had a very refined 1950s schoolgirl meets little house on the prairie aesthetic. In the designers words herself, her collection was "playful and a bit naughty." Each look was paired with glasses and a belt, reinforcing the high waist as a much important aspect of the female anatomy. We saw a lot of floral prints, lean pants, silks and muted colors. Some may categorize this collection as a little yawn inspiring maybe "repetitive" but I would use the word "lovely"
