vena cavaNew York, September 5th--Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock used Hollywood Babylon and Achille Castiglioni as inspiration and backdrop for their 30 piece spring '08 collection. Imagine Logan's Run but darker. 70s prevailed, especially in the lime green siren-esc gown featured on Holland, the red haired vixen on her over sized pop art cellular the whole time, how rude. They stuck to their guns this season and introduced a few new beautiful prints, my favorite being the beehive. The alphabet soup print was a little on the cheesy side, but they might be making a point, I just missed it. The gals did step beyond their comfort level and brought out some men's wear inspired pieces like slim cut pants and a cropped black jacket. Overall, a beautiful collection, enough to keep me entertained until next next season.
