Yes you May!

Frances May is a Portland based boutique we know only from the stories of friends who've visited. That's soon to change because they just launched their e-commerce site and it definitely lives up to our grand expectations. The aesthetic is meticulous and minimal and the selection the same. Designers include a ton of indie favorites: Nomia, Rachel Comey, Bodkin, Lover, Lyell...get the idea? The home page images are nice and big and the site is really easy to navigate. Thumbs up!

Shop Alert: Hello Blackbird

blackbirdWhile gathering a list of my favorite menswear stores for our Gift Guide Tip #2 (still to come later today), I stumbled across something I've been waiting for for a while now: Blackbird's new e-commerce site! We don't post about menswear very often, never really (that will change in 2009), but I seem to end up at Blackbird's blog pretty often while shopping for the bf. Their designer list is fantastic, and since I don't live in Seattle, their blog was the closest way to shop the collections. Their new site is clean, easy to shop and stocked full of great stuff for him--100% Style Bite approved.

Shop Alert: Amélie

Amélie is the newest addition to our growing list of online boutiques. I discovered it during a search for Finsk shoes (which are tricky to find btw). At the time Amelie was still under construction, but I've just learned that they are now open for business, and I had to check it out, thoroughly. Amelié is a character dreamt up by Niina Poskiparta and brought to life by Paris based illustrator Angéline Mélin. They stock a great selection of designers from some Style Bite favorites like Heimstone, Finsk, F-Troupe, Emma Cook, Opening Ceremony and Hannah Marshall. The layout is unique, informative and easy to shop -- we're convinced you'll agree.

Purest Cut Austrailia

purest cut
Please welcome Purest Cut, the newest Aussie addition to our 'shop list.' We've stumbled across their boutique a few times lately but can't gather how we forgot to add them to our roster. They feature an edited amount (10 to be exact) of indie Aussie labels as well as a great selection for men and women. Most spring is now on sale, which is fantastic.

Monki

You may have noticed that Style Bite has a penchant for Swedish designers. Which is why we were more than excited to discover Monki, another Swedish take on H & M. Think H & M meets Cheap Monday, meets Permanent Vacation. Actually, Permanent Vacation collaborated with the store for a collection and I think Cheap Monday may be involved, but don't quote me on that one. The goods are trendy, but taken from trends with a more indie and avant garde aesthetic, which makes for a must have collection.

Shop Alert: Totokaelo.com a.k.a. Impulse

totokaelo
The time has finally arrived: Impulse Seattle (a S.B. favorite) has graduated from shopping blog to full blown e-commerce site! While Impulse will remain Impulse, its online counterpart will operate under the name Totokaelo. The new site is much different than the usual suspects - it's membership only and primarily community driven...you must create a profile to begin shopping. The site is still in BETA - 'test' in computer lingo - so they're looking for as much feedback as possible. I don't think I've seen anything like it - it's a new concept when it comes to online shopping, so I need a little longer to figure it out.

Shop Alert: Standard Deviation

Standard Deviation is brand spankin' new online only boutique out of Brooklyn. Their designer list is stocked full of indie favorites like Society for Rational Dress, Heimstone and Burfitt. They also make room for lesser known newbies like Beckermann and Mine. All in all: better than your standard deviation.

Shop Alert: Azita

azita boutiqueHenrik Vibskov, SSWR, Wood Wood, Reality Sudio...any store with this roster of designers is automatically a favorite in my book. I stumbled across Azita (out of Frankfurt) online awhile back and was instantly impressed - the website is well edited and pretty easy to shop. An added bonus - The Coveted recently visited the shop in person and took some great pictures.

Shop Alert: Una...my Heart is Full

una boutique
Many a fashion gem call the Pacific Northwest home. Una, out of Portland, is a new one to ad to our list. I stumbled across them online a couple months ago and was instantly star struck by their designer roster, I couldn't believe the number of enticing names they fit into such an edited website --Hengst, Mociun, Rodebjar, Vena Cava, Sunshine & Shadow, Voeu, to name a few. The website hasn't been updated for spring yet, but their blog is charmingly home grown and well maintained with new arrivals, all of which are probably just a phone call or email away. E-commerce isn't set up yet, but the goods are well worth the extra effort is takes to call them your own.

Shop Alert: The Candy Store Online

the candy store
the candy store
the candy store
San Francisco has yet another name to add to its burgeoning list of boutique e-tailers. The Candy Store has been operating brick and mortar for a while in the mission district, since 2005 I believe. They are now proud to introduce online shopping. The site offers a large selection of clothes for him, her, and baby, as well as accessories for the home and beyond.
