Emma Fletcher of Lyell traded in the conventional catwalk for a romantic setting at the National Arts club, an old cricky bldg. perfect for her vintage inspired collection. Thanks to gals at Coutorture and sugar inc, I was able to view the collection. I can't say that Fletcher whiped out anything revolutionary or outside of her normal aesthetic, but thats ok, I'm more than ok with her traditional: delicate and wearable pieces. The collection was laden with printed dresses, silk blouses, higher waisted trousers and amazingly laced detailing, remarkably alluring from behind. All in all, I bookmarked a few pieces I would definitely spend my hard earned money on.

wow you've been blogging away. Have to catch up =) Well, I don't know much about this line, but I wanted to say that i thinkyou perfectly characerize what I struggle with - when fashion isn't revolutionary, i become content slipping back into admiration. i don't know how i feel about this, though i do enjoy distanced contemplation...
omg, I there is so much going on, although I think my incessant blogging is just a way of putting off the inconsistencies and precariousness of my own professional life at the moment. With fashion week, more on the horizons, fall lookbooks and spring arrivals, I get overwhelmed, like I can't cover it all :) No need to catch up, the denisity and thoughfullness of your discourse supercedes my short little posts:)
